The alarm clock goes off too early.

You sit on the edge of the bed, wiping your eyes, hoping that a quick shower will wake you enough to get started for the day. Your spouse and children are still asleep. Rushing to the car, you know you must be at work soon.

You have a little time to think on the way. What are the tasks for the day? You make a mental list, prioritizing things one by one.

Upon arrival, however, you realize that unforeseen events have changed your priorities. How do you react?

Have you ever thought about why you do what you do, day in and day out? Working through one task only to face another one seems to be the essence of each day.

Yet, we realize the family and, yes, even the pets, left behind while we work are important. They add meaning and give us enthusiasm to continue as we face the day’s challenges.

God’s greatest gift to us is love. The essence of love is free will. God has given us the ability to choose whom and what we love. We love with eagerness and enthusiasm.

At the end of our day, our service is rewarded as we eagerly rejoin the most important part of our lives and we are complete.
