Full Potential

by Darla Noble

Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might.

Ephesians 1:18-19

An elderly woman I know was recently given an iPad by one of her children. He (the son) explained to her and showed her that she could use it to take pictures, send and receive emails, and even Facetime with some of the grandkids. “I have a computer. I don’t need to do all of that,” she said. “I just want to be able to play my game (Mahjong) while I’m sitting on the deck.”

Just like the ‘tablet lady’ wasn’t ready or willing to let the new tablet ‘show’ her its full potential, we are often guilty of not allowing God’s full potential shine through us. We are so busy trying to do things on our own that we fail to live the full impact of God’s power and all He wants to do for us and in us.

Don’t let this be you. Experience God’s glory, power, blessings, and strength in mighty ways.

Pray: God, work in me. Open my heart to the truth of Your power and love. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
