Full Potential

by Darla Noble and Joyverse

Ephesians 1:18-19

Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of His might.

A senior woman I know recently received an iPad from her son.

He explained it to her and showed her that she could use it to take pictures, send and receive emails, and even Facetime with some of the grandkids.

“I have a computer. I don’t need to do all of that,” she said. “I just want to be able to play Mahjong while I’m sitting on the deck.”

Just as my friend wasn’t ready or willing to let the new tablet show her its full potential, many of us are guilty of not allowing God’s full potential to shine through us.

As we hurry from one thing to another, running errands, earning a living, enduring endless meetings, driving children or parents to where they need to go, we are often so busy trying to do things on our own that we fail to exhibit the full impact of God’s power and experience all He wants for us.

Don’t let this be you.

Determine not to let life get in the way of living. Allow yourself to experience God’s glory, power, blessings, and strength in mighty ways.

God created you for a purpose. Follow willingly where He leads to discover His plan for you!

Reflection

Do I regularly trust in the full power of God? If so, what have I come to expect from Him? If not, how can I change this way of thinking in my own life?

Prayer

Dear God, Please work in me. Open my heart to the truth of Your power and love. Let me experience the joys of Your rich glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
