An old saying posits that “money makes the world go round.”

It typically means that buying and selling — the economy — drive the lives of those who live on this planet.

While true in certain respects, this can’t be taken literally. Instead, God’s natural laws that govern objects in space make the world, our planet, go round.

And even then, that’s not really what makes the world go round.

God, as Creator of the heavens and earth, set the series of events in motion that make the world go round. This includes the earth’s literal rotation as well as the existence and movement of money and the world’s economies. It also includes whether you’ll spin ‘round and ‘round with anxiety over getting your needs met.

The next time you find yourself fretting about clothing your children, paying the electric bill, or having enough for retirement, remember this fundamental truth:

God, the Creator, makes the world go round. Then claim the blessing of today’s verse as your very own.
