For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.
The Good News of Christ is the gospel of Christ.
Paul was so thoroughly convinced of the truth of the gospel, and had so fully experienced its blessing and power, that he told anyone who would listen.
He had personally progressed from a state of hopelessness in which he was dead in sin to a state of redemption where he found deliverance through the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was neither afraid nor ashamed. His driving desire was for other people to discover the same peace he had through Christ.
The gospel as presented by Paul is just as powerful today as when it was written. We, too, can know the rich treasures of the grace of Christ, the abundant love of God as revealed through His Son.
Some people don’t tell others of their faith because they are afraid of what others might think. They are ashamed of God’s love, forgiveness, and grace!
The way to be unafraid and unashamed is to overflow in thanksgiving for what Christ has done: the forgiveness of sin, the peace of salvation, and the hope for the future.
All of these things will make you eager to boldly call yourself a Christian.
How can I boldly carry the Gospel of Christ today in my daily life?
Dear God, Please fill me with Your power and love. Help me to boldly tell others of You and the gospel. Help me to reflect on all You have done for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
