A single act can have a domino effect.

This was the case when Adam sinned. When sin entered the world, everything turned upside down. The beauty of God’s creation was marred. All hope seemed gone because death and sin had disrupted perfection. From then on, every person born on earth has been affected by sin.

The power of sin at work in our lives is the plight of fallen humanity. But, in the midst of the chaos of sin, God gave us grace through Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the epitome of grace reigning over sin. Sin brings death and decay in our lives. Jesus brings life and renewal. Where sin leads to punishment, grace gives us access to God and makes it possible for us to have a personal relationship with Him.

Romans 5 reminds us that we were once slaves to sin and death ruled over us. But Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross changed everything. Because of Jesus, God extends grace to us and accepts us as His own.

We who were once slaves are now rulers (Romans 5:17). We were headed to death but Christ stepped in and saved us. Praise God, sin is no match for grace because grace reigns over sin.
