According to a recent ranking of the most difficult colleges to get into, Harvard University in Massachusetts is at the top.

Here’s how to be one of the lucky applicants: Study so your grades qualify you as in the top two percent of the nation. Take college prep classes and ace them so your grade point average is above a 4.0. Score over 1500 on the SAT or over 32 on the ACT. That’s it. Just be perfect.

Thankfully, God doesn’t open the doors to His “university” like that. In fact, there are no spiritual credentials or grades that God considers at all.

He doesn’t choose the kindest, most productive, most affectionate, most happy people and say, “You’ve really proved your worth. Come be my disciple.” No. If God’s kingdom could be compared to a university at all, it would be free. Anyone who wants to follow Jesus is allowed to go. Anyone who wants to learn from the Bible can attend. Anyone who wants to join God’s family is welcome. The only admission requirement is the faith that produces a desire, a decision, a choice to follow Jesus.

Harvard has produced some amazing contributors to our world. But God’s university will do more for your life — and for eternity — than even the most elite school can.
