Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.
Life is often compared to a journey.
Some of life’s roads are smoothly paved, allowing you to make your way without a hitch. Others are full of bumps, potholes, perilous curves, and ditches. These bring stress, disappointment, pain, and grief into your life. And to make matters worse, often you are completely in the dark when you hit these rough spots, with nothing to guide you out!
But there is a light that will never leave you to find your way in the dark again. It is within your reach. It never stops shining and always leads you in the right direction. It is God’s Word, the Bible.
The Bible gives you a sense of calm and hope for today as well as the future. It is the “road map” to solve all of life’s problems, big or small. It contains words of inspiration to live a life of faith, purity, good stewardship, compassion, and love for God and others.
The words of the Bible fill your heart with a desire to be like Jesus and to live a life that reflects your hope for an eternal home in heaven.
The Bible is God’s GPS for living life to its fullest and best.
How can I make the Bible as my spiritual GPS? (Suggestion: for the next 3 weeks, read one “section” of Psalm 119 each day and journal about what it teaches me about God’s Word.)
Dear God, Thank You for giving me Your Word to light my way. Help me to pay greater attention to the information You have given me. May I never assume that I know what You are going to say. In Jesus’ holy name I pray, Amen.
