What a Wonderful Love!

by Pastor Ken

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

John 3:16 is the most quoted verse in the Bible.

It eloquently sums up the Bible’s entire message. It is, however, impossible to comprehend the intensity of God’s love — no matter how often we say or read the verse. Only when we allow ourselves to become immersed in God’s love do we begin to comprehend the message.

As Augustine observed over fifteen hundred years ago, “God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.”

When I look back at all the ways God has demonstrated His love for me since I accepted Him as my Savior when I was just ten years old, I am humbled and amazed to think of how great His love for me is. If you, too, will take a few moments to think about all God has done for you, you will be equally humbled and in awe of the holy and awesome God we call Father.

No matter what storm you face in your life, you need to know that God really loves you.

C. S. Lewis, twentieth century scholar and apologist, said, “Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.”

Reflection

Do I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to take away my sins? Do I believe that God loves me unconditionally? Why or why not? I will take a few minutes to write down all the ways God has expressed His love for me lately.

Prayer

Heavenly Lord, Thank You for the miracle of Your unconditional love. Thank You for covering my life with the saving grace of Jesus’ sacrificial blood. Give me a grateful heart and make me ever mindful of who You are. In Jesus’ beautiful name I pray, Amen.
