I Will Not Be Afraid

by Darla Noble and Joyverse

Luke 2:10-11

The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people. For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

“Don’t be afraid.” “Fear not.” Some version of this command occurs over 100 times in the Bible.

Don said, “Though I could feel the tornado pulling the house down all around us, I was not afraid because I felt the presence of God surrounding us.”

Ellen said, “When the doctor said she didn’t think she could save my baby, I started to panic. But suddenly I felt a warm feeling pour over me like a blanket and I knew it was God wrapping His arms around me. At that moment I knew both my child and I would be fine.”

The world is full of sin, pain, sadness, suffering, and loss.

And there are times when we will experience all of those things in our lives. But when we do, we have the full assurance that we have nothing to fear because when we are in Christ, we have the power of the Almighty to overcome anything that comes our way.

Live with the “no fear” attitude and let Christ be the Ruler and Keeper of your life!

Nothing on earth lasts forever — except our decision for Christ. Once we’ve made Him our Savior, we can live without fear… forever.

Reflection

What am I afraid of? I will give my fears to Jesus, drawing special comfort and peace as I remember that He is praying for me in heaven (Romans 8:34).

Prayer

Dear Jesus, Thank You for being greater than my fears. Please give me a heart and mind that never fail to call on You. Help me live without fear, fully trusting in Your promise to love and care for me. In Your name I pray, Amen.
