In today’s culture, education is everything — but not just any education. “Experts” are convinced no education is equal to S.T.E.M. education — one that focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

That’s all well and good for students who want to pursue a career in one of those areas. But what about students who don’t? What about students who want to pursue a career in music, art, history, literature, languages, or ministry? Is the wisdom and understanding necessary for these pursuits not as important? Not as relevant? Not as valuable?

Absolutely not!

God created each of us with our own unique interests and talents. Some of us are wise in S.T.E.M.-related subjects. Some of us are wise in other subjects. But we all have the capacity to be wise in the ways of the Lord — to have the wisdom necessary to live according to God’s commands and expectations.

Intellectual wisdom is a blessing God means for us to use for His glory and to help others. But it can never be as glorifying to God as the wisdom that comes from knowing Him and letting His Word be the guiding force of our lives.
