A friend of mine recently posted the following on social media:

“ I haven’t been feeling very thankful these days. Momma has less than six months to live after fighting cancer for two years. Doctors say I’ll be unable to walk in less two years or less.

But then one day, last week I saw a news story about a young couple who went to great lengths to have a child — only to have the child die of SIDS when she was six months old. And if that wasn’t bad enough, after going through the rigors of adoption, the baby they were told would be theirs, was suddenly yanked out of their arms when the birth mother changed her mind! But then a teenager gave birth to twins, chose this couple to be their parents, signed the papers and never looked back.”

She went on to say that at that point she was again very thankful.

Why?

Because this couple she didn’t know was thanking God and the court system that had just pronounced the twins forever theirs. They were giving thanks for the journey that had brought them together because God in his infinite wisdom had created each of them for each other.

It’s not always easy to give thanks, but it’s always possible because God is always good.
