Living Your Best Life

by Darla Noble

Isaiah 55:11

So is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do.

When we plant seeds in the ground we expect them to produce whatever flower or vegetable they are meant to produce.

When we put a pan of cake batter in the oven we expect it to become an edible cake over the prescribed period of time.

When we sit at a stoplight we expect it to turn green, giving us our turn to continue making our way down the road.

In other words, we expect things to live up to their full potential — to perform the tasks they are intended to. And so it is with us and God.

God created each of us for specific purposes. We all have intricate roles in His vast universe that, when lived out, allow His plan to be fulfilled more perfectly. But if we don’t fulfill God’s plan for us, then our personal lives, and life in general, are not all they are meant to be. We are cheating ourselves and others out of the blessings that come when we reach our full potential.

Don’t hold back. Ask God to reveal your purposes to you and help you live them. When you do, you will prosper and flourish, living your best life!

Reflection

What talents and abilities do I have? These are my gifts from God. How can I use them for His glory today?

Prayer

Dear God, Please show me my purposes in life. Help me reach my full potential in You and for You. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
