Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.
Growing up, I was afraid of the dark. When I was a teenager, I preferred to have a night light in or near my bedroom. My overactive imagination could think of a hundred and one awful things waiting in the darkness.
When surrounded by darkness, I felt lost and confused. I didn’t know where was safe or which way to go. As soon as I saw a light, I would be attracted to the light, in order to know where I was going and to feel secure.
God’s Word is like that light for us in this life. Life can be dark and confusing. We may not know what to do in a crisis or where to go next in our lives. God wants to guide us with His Word. Through it, God can tell us where we are, where are we going, and what to do next. How can we get this guidance? By reading and meditating on God’s Word every day. The more we get to know God’s Word, the more God can speak to us.
Let God’s Word be a light to your path today.
