The Miracle of the Moment

by Pastor Ken

Mark 10:14-16

But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these. Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.” He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

The disciples tried to prevent some young children from interrupting and “bothering” Jesus one day as He was teaching a crowd of people.

But Jesus stopped them. In the words of today’s verse, He told them we should all be as eager to come to Him and as willing to respond to Him with the same kind of genuine faith and trust the children had in Him. Then Jesus did something very special for the children around Him: He blessed them.

Jesus’ heart is full of desire to bless us — His children.

But He also wants us to have the desire to pass those blessings on to others. He knew even the smallest act of kindness or simple words of encouragement can make a big difference in someone’s life.

You don’t have to have a lot of money or material wealth to be a blessing to someone. All you have to do is lend a helping hand, share what you do have with others, and always make sure your words build others up rather than tearing them down.

Be the miracle someone needs today. Be the one who brings God’s children to Jesus, rather than turning them away from Him.

Reflection

How can I imitate God’s love by paying it forward today?

Prayer

Dear God, Thank You for calling me Your child. You have given me the power to encourage, help, and inspire. Please help me be a light that shines brightly for You, leading more of Your children to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
