Enjoying God’s Blessings

Deuteronomy 7:13
He will love you, bless you, multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your livestock and the young of your flock, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you.
I once read about a man who scrimped and saved his money to take a cruise.
But, sadly, he spent the first three days being miserable because he didn’t do anything. He wouldn’t even eat from the luscious buffets of food that seemed to be everywhere he went.
After three days the man became so hungry he just couldn’t help himself, so he ate. After he’d finished, one of the ship’s stewards asked him if he had enjoyed the meal.
The man said yes, but that he was sorry he couldn’t pay for it.
The steward explained that he had indeed paid for the meal when he’d paid for the cruise — his ticket included all the food and other amenities he wanted.
Amazed, the man smiled, knowing that now this truly was going to be the vacation he had dreamed of.
Nowadays, many Christians are just like the man on the ship. They accept Christ as their Savior but they don’t enjoy the blessings God wants to give them — blessings paid for by Jesus.
Don’t miss out! Enjoy God’s blessings today and every day.
Reflection
What is keeping me from allowing myself to enjoy God’s abundant blessings?
Prayer
Creator God, Thank You for Your love and for the blessings that are mine just because I belong to You. Please send me all the blessings You have prepared for me — and open my eyes so I might recognize them for what they are. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
