Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Romans 8:35, 37
Sad, bad, scary, unfair, terrible, horrible, no-good things happen because sin happened. And sin is going to keep right on happening until Jesus comes back to take the saved to be happily ever after in eternity.
The good news, however, is that when you have Jesus on your side, you don’t have to worry about all those things get you down–you are in trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death, or whatsoever else. Jesus who loves you is bigger than all of them. He’s bigger than all of them combined.
Jesus is unshakable. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Jesus is steadfast (Psalm 136). He makes on His promises, always and forever (2 Peter 3:9).
Jesus is dependable (Romans 8:38-39). He will never leave you (Deuteronomy 31:6, John 6:37). He is “I AM” (ego eimi in Greek, John 6:35, 11:25).
So, today and always, fix your eyes upon Jesus! Then, you are more than conquers, period.
Pray: LORD, thank you for being You. Thank you for being the one true God who never changes. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
