The New You

Colossians 3:9-10
Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator.
Today is the perfect time to remind you that you become a completely new being when you give your life to Christ. It is your brand-new beginning.
When you give your life to Christ you can be everything He wants you to be. You can do all He wants you to do. You can receive all He wants you to receive and you will have the hope of eternal salvation.
A 2008 Dominican University study found that people are more apt to fulfill goals when they write them down. While I’m sure that is true, I also know that when we make our desires known to God and give our lives to Him we are more successful and accomplished than even we can imagine.
So, beginning today, talk to Jesus about your goals. Ask Him for wisdom and guidance to get there — or to go someplace even better that He has planned for you.
Every day with Jesus is one of renewal.
Believe the words of Paul when he says, “I can do everything through Him (Christ) who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13 NIV). “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through Him” (Colossians 3:17).
Reflection
What are my goals for this new year? I will write them down, pray about them, and ask Jesus for His guidance to achieve everything He has planned for me.
Prayer
Dear Lord, Please make me a new person, filled with Your Spirit. Help me to accomplish all my goals and dreams for this year for Your glory. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
