We Will Overcome

by Heather Tietz and Joyverse

Revelation 3:21

He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Are you overcome?

Life promises hills to climb, piles to sort, loads to carry, and seemingly unending thankless tasks. They can bury us. We can complain about them. We can see them as enemies. We can fear them. Or, we can overcome them.

We don’t have to let our circumstances — our Rocky Mountains, our dark valleys — depress us, send us into hiding, or cause us to go to war.

We can walk with Jesus on the path God has prepared for us. We can have a prayer conversation with Him that never ends, telling Him our every challenge, speaking aloud our trust in His care for us. We can thank Him for the good plan we believe we are a part of.

The Bible is clear: our trials are not more than we can endure. We can overcome.

Overcoming involves living our faith — making it a vibrant, growing thing. If we live out an honest belief that God is bigger than all we have coming at us, if we grow our spirit beneath our battered bodies, we will conquer.

Claim the promise of today’s verse. You can overcome whatever the world throws your way. God cares for you. When you overcome, He has a glorious eternal reward waiting!

Reflection

What challenge am I currently battling? I will write myself an encouraging statement about it, speaking out my trust that God is caring for me even now.

Prayer

Dear Commander of the Heavenly Armies, Please help me to overcome the things the Enemy throws at me. I humbly ask for Your guidance and protection. Show me the pathway You want me to take. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
