He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”
The universe God created is a beautiful and magnificent place. It is filled with the awesome works of nature and the joys of loving people and serving God by using the talents and abilities he so graciously gives. But the world is also a troublesome place. War…cancer…deception…financial woes…broken relationships…. In other words, the world is filled with sin.
But God didn’t create us to live in a sinful world. He created us to worship Him and to enjoy living in His presence. He longs for our company—to spend eternity with us. That is why He sent Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins—so that if we accept this amazing gift of salvation we can spend eternity in the new world He has in store for us when Jesus returns to take the faithful and obedient to live in the presence of God.
Today’s verse tells us that God’s words are faithful and true—that we can depend upon Him to keep His promise. Oh, what a joy it is to know that what God says is true and that He never goes back on His word!
Do it: Show your love and appreciation for God’s faithful promise to you by living each day as if you do.
