In the book of Colossians, the Apostle Paul is writing to the Church in Colossae.

He writes from prison, but that does not deter him from encouraging God’s people to exalt Christ. Paul wants his readers to know about the awesomeness of Jesus so they will rely on Him and not put their faith in something lesser.

Paul knew the believers needed their hearts to be knit together in love and truth. Only then would they realize that the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are only gained by putting our confidence in Christ.

Where does your confidence lie?

In today’s world, we can easily fall prey to Shiny Object Syndrome, a tendency to chase new things and be distracted.

It’s easy to have FOMO, the “fear of missing out,” but when we realize the magnificence of Christ, our hearts will understand that life’s greatest Treasure is found in a relationship with Him. Then we can confidently sing, “On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand!” For where our Treasure is, there will our hearts be also (Luke 12:34).
