The woods. The beach. The aquarium. Digging in the dirt in my flower beds and vegetable garden. Nature walks with the grandkids. Tending to the sheep. Listening to the sighs and snorts of the sheep and cows in the barn late at night. These are my happy places.

When I am watching, participating in, or listening to the elements of God’s creation we call nature, I feel at peace. I feel rested. I feel… in awe.

When immersed in nature, I know God is real!

When I look at a bright yellow fish with a perfectly shaped pink square on both sides of its body, I see nature praising God for His artistry.

When I see the intricate threads of a passion vine flower, or asparagus poking through the dirt just waiting to be picked and eaten, or when I smell the sweetness of honeysuckle, I see God’s imagination and eye for detail.

Giraffes, dachshunds, and llamas show me God’s sense of humor.

When I see the ocean waves rolling in and out, never ending and going on and on and on, I see God’s holiness, His omniscience, His permanence.

Any place with God is a “happy place.” Spend time with your Creator in His creation and let Him fill you with His joy and peace.
