Recently, I have tried to let my imagination paint mental pictures of how exquisite heaven will be.

I’m afraid my dreams don’t do heaven justice. Thankfully, the Bible gives us glimpses of the Promised Land.

Revelation 22 tells us that the curse of Adam’s sin will no longer be on the human race. In the celestial city, we won’t struggle to make ends meet or engage in laborious work that is unfulfilling. Instead, we will delight in blissful service to God and we’ll enjoy it, the same way Adam enjoyed his work before the fall.

Moreover, we will see the face of the One who has seen us since we were in our mothers’ wombs. Our faith will become sight. Sin will no longer skew our view of God. We’ll be in sweet communion with our Creator; enjoying an intimacy that has yet to be explored. We will be in the presence of the One who fully knows and loves us.

And to top it off, the Bible also tells us that God’s name will be on our foreheads. In God’s kingdom, we will be identified as His beloved people.

We will be transformed and live in God’s eternal light. The pain of this world will be no more. The splendors of heaven will exceed our wildest dreams.
