I thank you and praise you, O God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter.
What would you do to escape death?
Daniel prayed and asked God for wisdom. While in Babylonian exile, Daniel heard the startling decree that all wise men, which included him, would be executed the next day because no one could tell King Nebuchadnezzar what he dreamt the night before.
Daniel was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
He needed answers that only God could give, so he did what he knew best: he prayed. He needed God’s wisdom to get through the trials that were staring him in the face.
And guess what? God miraculously answered! He revealed to Daniel the king’s dream. As a result, many lives were spared, and God was glorified.
That day, Daniel praised God with a prayer of thanksgiving. He was grateful for the wisdom and power God provided.
How about you? Are you feeling powerless? Do you need wisdom from on high?
There’s good news for you, friend. God has a promise with your name on it. In James 1:5-6, He promises to give you wisdom with no strings attached, all you have to do is ask and it’s yours. Wisdom is a gift from God. Just as He gave it to Daniel when he needed it most, it’s yours for the taking.
Where in my life am I lacking in wisdom and need God’s guidance?
Almighty God, Please increase my faith and give me the wisdom I need to get through life’s challenges. Thank You for promising to answer this prayer every time I ask. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
