Wise King Solomon wrote thousands of proverbs, preserving his wisdom for posterity. The book of Proverbs includes several blessings that are as relevant today as they were when Solomon reigned.
Like a private spring of water, monogamy brings blessings
Proverbs 5:18
Let your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth.
Those who listen to wisdom are blessed
Proverbs 8:32-33
Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it.
The one who finds wisdom is blessed with life and favor from God
Proverbs 8:34-36
Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts. For whoever finds me, finds life and will obtain favor from the LORD. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.
Righteousness brings blessings
Proverbs 10:6-7
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.
Good citizens bless their communities
Proverbs 11:10-12
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting. By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
Blessed are those who minister to the poor
Proverbs 14:21
He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has pity on the poor is blessed.
Those who trust in God and follow His Word are blessed with abundance
Proverbs 16:20
He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in the LORD is blessed.
A person's integrity is a blessing to their children
Proverbs 20:7
A righteous man walks in integrity. Blessed are his children after him.
Generosity brings blessings
Proverbs 22:9
He who has a generous eye will be blessed; for he shares his food with the poor.
Recognizing one's shortcomings and atoning for them brings blessings
Proverbs 28:13-14
He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Blessed is the man who always fears; but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.
The faithful are richly blessed
Proverbs 28:20
A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
Blessings come to those who follow God's law
Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed.
A Godly woman is blessed and worthy of praise
Proverbs 31:28-30
Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
