I remember when my life was consumed with worldly possessions.

My mind was full of the next best thing. When I wanted something, I was relentless until I got it. I never stopped to think whether I needed the thing or if it were important.

I wanted a motorcycle and did not stop until I got it. The motorcycle was fun for a short while until I wanted something else. Then it sat in the garage for several years.

There was a void in my life that I could not fill. Going from one thing to the next failed to give me what I needed to fill the emptiness.

At the time, I failed to realize that everything in this world is temporary.

The motorcycle is most likely junk now. My home will be passed on to someone else. The health issues I face today will also be a thing of the past. Our life here is temporary and all our worldly possessions will die with us.

God is the only answer to living a full life through the grace of Jesus. The eternity we are promised begins the instant we first believe in God and accept Jesus Christ. With eternity in view, worldly possessions do not mean as much anymore.
