Living every day in gratitude leads to a more positive outlook and, ultimately, a happier life. These verses show a few more benefits for regularly practicing thankfulness.

Gratitude produces supernatural peace

Philippians 4:6-7

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Gratitude glorifies God

2 Corinthians 4:15

For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Gratitude grows my faith and trust in God

1 Peter 1:7

That the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—

I am grateful to God for accepting Christ's sacrifice in my stead

1 Corinthians 15:56-57

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

My gratitude magnifies God

Psalm 69:30

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

My gratitude for God's protection ignites joy in my heart

Psalm 28:7

The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him.
