I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus.
When was the last time you expressed gratitude for God’s grace in someone’s life?
As Christians, we have the opportunity to rejoice over God’s grace in our lives and in the lives of others. It’s so important to be on the lookout for grace in action.
It’s easy to rejoice over God’s goodness in our own lives, but it takes another level of empathy to rejoice over God’s goodness in another person’s life.
Opportunities to give thanks on behalf of others are all around us. As a mother, you can rejoice over a person who gets to foster, adopt, or birth a long-awaited child. If you are sober, you can rejoice over a person who is overcoming addiction. If your cancer is in remission, give thanks to God over someone who is on the road to recovery.
God’s grace abounds and the opportunities to rejoice with others are endless; but we have to be aware of them. The Bible tells us that all of heaven rejoices when a person gives their life to Jesus, allowing them to experience the ultimate grace of salvation. The grace of God is the greatest gift we can experience and when we extend God’s grace to His other children, gratitude spills over.
How have I seen God’s grace show up in someone else’s life? How can I be on the lookout for grace today?
Gracious God, Thank You for freely extending grace to me, so I can do the same to others. May the love I show them cause them to rejoice over Your goodness in their lives. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
