Being called out by name and put on display is not always a fun experience.

I remember dreading the times my teachers would decide they were going to randomly call on people for answers. Or the times where people would volunteer my piano playing ability for some church event. With no warning, I was suddenly front and center, a place I did not enjoy being.

In the Bible, Job was suddenly called on, front and center.

God saw that Job had integrity, that his character was true, and he was dedicated to God. So, when Satan came claiming the world and everyone as his, God brought Job’s name up to challenge this claim.

What follows is Satan tearing away the many blessings that had filled Job’s life. He loses family, friends, livestock, wealth, and even his own well-being.

Yet, despite facing many painful and difficult circumstances, we are told in Job 2:3 that even though Satan ruined Job without any reason, Job still kept his integrity.

We see in those first few chapters of Job that despite everything Job loses, he still chooses to remain faithful to God and to worship Him.

Job demonstrates to us that our integrity is something deep within us. It is part of our character and it is not something that is based on our circumstances.
