Salvation belongs to the LORD. May your blessing be on your people. Selah.
After my son was born, I gradually lost my ability to walk.
It began with struggling to get up in the morning. I’d roll to my side and struggle to push myself up. Once standing, I could only shuffle.
I had no strength to lift my legs, not even high enough to take a step. I leaned on a cane to get around the house. When I walked my girls to school, it was a turtle creep. I clung to the baby’s stroller in agony. At 35, I was feeling 110. I needed saving!
In tears one morning I prayed, “I can’t sit. I can’t stand. I can barely walk.”
Suddenly my brother-in-law came to mind. Within the hour, he showed up with his father, a massage table and an incredible knowledge of bones and muscles. While my son slept, his father-in-law worked strength back into my weak muscles.
I learned a little late that properly fitting shoes can save your back, especially when it’s weak after childbirth. Praise God, I gained my health back. He sent the right people, the right knowledge, the right things to save me.
What a blessing it is to be saved! Like the countless God-lovers throughout Scripture, God is in the profession of saving, all the time, all day long.
Ultimately, my salvation from the troubles of this life is in heaven, but how have I recently been blessed by God saving me here, now?
Thank You, Lord, for the ways You save me every day. Thank You for blessing me with salvation and for the saving hope of heaven. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
