No Need to Fear

Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.
I’ve always found prophecy to be a scary thing.
All the end time TV specials and the fire and brimstone preachers can range from upsetting to terrifying.
While it may be true that the end times are scary to think about, our main focus should always be on trusting Jesus to get us through them.
God didn’t tell us what’s going to happen to scare us. Instead, He gave us advance warning to help prepare us for what’s to come.
God doesn’t want us to be afraid; “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV).
Yes, prophecy can be frightening, but Jesus has already fought every battle and won. That’s where the promised blessing comes from!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NIV).
It’s important to know and learn about prophecy, but it’s also important to remember that God is in control and He loves us. So, the next time you study prophecy, or learn something that might scare you; remember that God’s got everything under control and that there’s no need to fear.

Dear Heavenly Lord, Thank You for giving me prophecy. Please help me to trust in You. I crave the blessings You have promised me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
