Gifts of God

God gives all good and perfect gifts (James 1:17). God loved us so much, He gave His Son Jesus — the best gift. Anyone who believes in Christ will have eternal life: the gift of salvation (John 3:16).

To believers, God gives spiritual gifts to serve and build up the Church, a community of all believers.

Because Christ empowers me, I will use God’s gifts and talents in His service.

Every good and perfect gift comes from God

James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

Ecclesiastes 5:19

God gives various spiritual gifts

1 Corinthians 12:28-31

God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.

Use various spiritual gifts according to God’s way

Romans 12:6-8

Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us: if prophecy, let’s prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; or service, let’s give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; or he who exhorts, to his exhorting; he who gives, let him do it with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
