“Have faith in God,” Jesus said (Mark 11:22). He never gives us a command we cannot keep. If He tells us to have faith, then it follows that He will tell us how.
Faith grows by listening to God's Word
Romans 10:17
So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Ask Jesus for help
Mark 9:21-24
He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood. Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.” Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”
Faith starts by believing that a loving God exists
Hebrews 11:6
Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
Faith comes from the Holy Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
