Have you ever felt forgotten and abandoned by God — that your prayers were being ignored?

Job did.

In Job 19, he cried out in anguish. He was between a rock and a hard place. His children had unexpectedly died. He struggled financially, due to an out-of-the-blue loss. His marriage was strained. His support system blamed him for his troubles. And to top things off, he was sick with a debilitating skin condition that left him with painful lesions.

Many of us can identify with Job. We find ourselves in the middle of an unexpected crisis. It seems like everything is caving in and we may be tempted to feel that God is nowhere to be found. In times like these, our hearts resonate with Job’s lament.

Like many of us, Job felt “walled up” by his circumstances. But, as verse 25 conveys, he did not lose all hope. Instead, he chose to believe in his Redeemer.

Job had a glimmer of hope even when life seemed hopeless. He had a Redeemer and so do you and I.

Despite all the pain you’re experiencing, Jesus will never leave or abandon you. No matter the depths of your despair, know your Redeemer lives. Your situation has not gone unnoticed to Him. At just the right time, He will redeem and restore you.
