We all have an image.

The way we present ourselves creates a picture in other’s minds of who we are. Depending on what we do and say when we’re around people, they can form a positive or negative image of us.

As Christians, we’re called to represent the image of Christ, but we can’t present an accurate picture of Jesus if we don’t know Him. We have to build a relationship with Him before we can ever hope to present Him, in all His wonderful grace and mercy, to the world.

When God comes into our hearts and our lives, it should transform our whole perspective. Trials and tribulations become opportunities to build up our trust in God. Even the way we work, what we do and say, is affected by our relationship with Christ. Hard work becomes something you do for Him instead of for yourself or other people.

Like today’s verse says, “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

When we work, it should be for the Lord, who sees everything we do, and not half-heartedly. And in the end, we’ll reap the benefits of our hard work. Whatever that work may be.
