Whenever I want to get into God’s presence, I sing.

So you don’t get the wrong impression, I don’t have a knack for singing. In fact, I’ve been known to sing out of tune. Sometimes when singing a song, I forget the melody. But despite all this, I sing my heart out in worship, especially when I truly desire to draw nearer to God. I do this because music can open the heart to hear God more clearly.

There are times when my heart is crying out to God in song and He feels so close to me. It’s at those moments of sincere worship that I experience unspeakable joy and tears begin to fall from my eyes.

You don’t have to be a talented musician or singer to use music to draw closer to God in worship.

Music is a heavenly gift that transcends barriers and allows us to bask in God’s presence. In your quiet times with God, you can play worship music, write a love song to God, play an instrument, hum a song, or sing a hymn. God isn’t concerned about your musical prowess, He’s more interested in the posture of your heart.

Worship through music is a love offering, opening up the lines of communication from earth to heaven.
