Family is the first and most important type of relationship God put into motion.

I think it’s fair to say that family is really important to God. But family is also the most wonderful, frustrating, fulfilling, worrisome, amazing, and agonizing entity known to mankind. In short, it’s just hard.

But even during the most difficult and painful situations, family is always worth it. The gift of family, knowing who you come from and to whom you belong, fulfills and completes us.

I realize not everyone has a loving, supportive earthly family, and I’m sorry if you are one of those people. But you need to know that the gift of family is still yours. No matter what our earthly families are like — fantastic, horrendous, average, or even non-existent — you have a family for which to be thankful. A family with a Father Who loves you unconditionally and eternally, Who wants nothing but the best for you, Who does amazing things for you, Who protects, comforts, disciplines, and blesses you. That father is THE Father — God.

Family and friends are precious earthly treasures. But even more than these, we have the opportunity to be a member of God’s family. If you haven’t already, will you become His child?
