For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.” For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.
How we see the world is heavily influenced by our thoughts.
Whether good or bad, our thoughts have an effect on our mental and physical well-being. Many things try to get us down in life, and if we allow ourselves to fall into a pattern of negative thinking, we’ll stay down.
Too often, we allow ourselves to live in a mindset of defeat. Too quickly, we forget the gift Jesus’ sacrifice afforded us. Too easily, we let slip from our minds the fact that Jesus is alive!
By believing in Him, we are granted eternal life!
That’s not to say we won’t have struggles, or that we can’t experience sadness, grief, or anger, but what wonderful news it is that death is not the end.
This pain and heartache won’t last. There’s something more! And it’s so much more glorious than we can imagine.
By accepting the sacrifice Christ made for us at Calvary, we are no longer condemned. Instead, we are accepted as sons and daughters of the Most High King.
When we focus on that, on the fact that Jesus is coming soon and that one day our struggles will be over, it’s easier not to get stuck in negative thinking. Today, live joyfully in the knowledge of His soon return.
How can trusting in God and His promises positively change my thinking?
Dear Jesus, Thank You for keeping Your promises. When things get difficult, please help me hold onto You and focus on Your soon return. I love You. May You always be my “Yes” and “Amen.”
