Discerning between truth and lies can be difficult. There is often so much conflicting information, it is easy to get confused.

That is why God gives us tools to help us find and hold onto the truth, as well as recognize and stand against the lies of the Devil.

One of the greatest tools God has given us is His Word. It is the basis for all truth and supplies us with everything we need in this life (2 Timothy 3:16; John 17:17).

Another tool God has given us to resist the Devil is prayer. All throughout His life, even unto the end, Jesus prayed and talked with His Father in heaven (Mark 1:35; Luke 5:16; Matthew 26:39). The Bible tells us that we should “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). So prayer must be a very important tool in helping us against the Devil’s lies.

Yet another tool in standing against Satan’s lies is a relationship with Jesus.

Reading God’s Word, praying to Him continually, and sharing your life with Him creates a bond of closeness to God and allows for His Holy Spirit to lead you in sharing Him with others while shaping you into who He created you to be.
