Regardless of your age, Jesus can help you use your God-given pearl of unique wisdom to learn to think more creatively.

I find that brainstorming trains the mind to be more creative and flexible. It allows us to consider a wide choice of possibilities before giving us the chance to choose the best.

Tips for brainstorming alone or with a group:

• Pray to God to send the Holy Spirit to give you creative ideas.
• Write the issue you are wrestling with as a question. It can be any decision you want to make. For example, “How can I solve the problem of… ?”
• Write down as many ideas as possible, as fast as you can. Do not hesitate to include any weird ones.
• Do not comment on or criticize the resulting ideas.
• When you have all the possible approaches, sit back and sift through them. Take time to combine, turn them around, rearrange, and play with them. Have fun with this process. Humor triggers creativity.
• Select the best idea to make your final decision.

This process has worked well for me for years. Thus, it has become a habit.

Ask Jesus to guide you. He will ensure that you glorify God through your creative gifts.
