An estimated seventeen million people were killed by the German Nazi Regime from 1933-1945. During this dark period of world history, so many innocent men, women, and children were wiped from the face of the Earth.

In the midst of this gross human travesty, some people chose to hide their Jewish neighbors and friends. Corrie ten Boom’s family was among them. Her family provided a refuge for those in need.

During World War II, her family built an extra room in their home to hide Jewish refugees and even observed the Sabbath with them. Eventually, they were found out and sent to concentration camps where most of them died, with the exception of Corrie, who would go on to preach a message of God’s love around the world.

Corrie ten Boom held fast to her integrity as she waited for God’s deliverance. Even despite losing her loved ones to the horrors of hatred, she held on in faith.

In Psalm 25:20-21, David reminds us that our current afflictions should not prevent us from trusting in God’s deliverance. Life may throw us some curveballs but it can never out throw God. In His omniscience and omnipotence, He is there in every circumstance of our lives, ready to deliver us and grant us victory.
