This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
1 John 5:14

Clint prayed God would use him in full-time ministry, but was rejected time and again when he applied for preaching jobs. Finally, Clint started praying for God to reveal God’s will for his life, things started happening. He is now working in full-time ministry—as a teacher and coach in a Christian school.
You wouldn’t allow your six-year-old to cook over an open fire would you—even if they begged you to do so? Of course not! Why? Because it’s not safe, that’s why! The same is true for us and God. God knows exactly what we need, when we need it, and where we need to be. He knows these things because He created us. So when we ask God to show us His will for our lives and when we ask Him to give us things according to His will, He does just that.
So pray this way: ask God to give you the blessings and opportunities that are His will for your life. I promise that if you pray this way, you will be blessed beyond your wildest imagination.
LORD, my prayer is that I will desire the things You want to give me and that I will want to follow the life You have laid out for me. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
