God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.
Nine pounds, nine ounces, and sixteen inches long; those were the measurements of my youngest son at birth.
After nine months of waiting and praying, he finally made his entrance into this world: the spitting image of his father. To this day, friends and relatives agree that he is a miniature version of my husband — his Mini-Me.
In the beginning, humanity was the spitting image of our heavenly Father. However, when Adam and Eve sinned, the image of God was distorted. Thankfully, it was not destroyed.
When our lives are surrendered to God, the beauty of His character is on full display. God’s image is seen more clearly when our words and actions reflect His character of love.
As God’s image bearers, we are set apart from the rest of His amazing creation because you and I can resemble Him morally, socially, and mentally.
Your existence is not happenstance. God created you in His image to reflect His goodness to the world around you.
Your unique gifts and talents all testify to God’s keen interest in you. His fondest desire is that you resemble Him in such a way that those around you see His character more clearly and acknowledge that you are a spitting image of your heavenly Parent.
What can I do today to help others more readily recognize God?
Dear God, Thank You for creating me in Your image. Show me ways I can better reflect Your character so others can see more of You in me. In Jesus’ beautiful name I pray, Amen.
