For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7
Have you ever been in a situation where you were expected to do something in spite of the fact that you didn’t have the tools necessary for the job? Or maybe you weren’t even instructed on how to properly do the task you’d been given to do. How frustrating is that, right!
God doesn’t do that, though. He doesn’t tell us to run from the devil without giving us a place to run to. He doesn’t tell us to resist temptation without giving us a way out even if that way out is simply to say ‘no.’ God doesn’t issue commands and set expectations for us without telling us what they are, as well as the consequences (both good and bad) of obeying Him. He also doesn’t leave us to do it on our own.
Those of us who have accepted Jesus as Savior have the power of the Holy Spirit living in us to guide, encourage, and protect us.
I’ve got this power. Do you?
God, thank You for Your Spirit. Make me more conscious of Jesus’ presence and the power I have because of Him. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
