Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.
At the beginning of his relationship with Jesus, the disciple John was such an angry person, Jesus nicknamed him a “Son of Thunder.”
However, when John walked with Jesus all the time, he became a “disciple of love.” He understood that God IS love (1 John 4:8).
In his old age, John was so close to Jesus that Jesus showed him visions of things to come and had him write His future Master Plan — the book of the Bible we call the Revelation.
Imagine: like John, you are with Jesus all the time. You think of Jesus always, whatever you do, wherever you go. You think of Him so much, you start to think as He does. You act like Him. You make decisions as Jesus would. You are now in Jesus. Every day, your life demonstrates continual growth towards God’s character.
When you continue this spiritual journey, one day you will find that Jesus becomes your wisdom. When you are with Jesus all the time, He transforms you. Gradually, your life reveals His righteousness.
As sanctification happens, your character becomes holy. Finally, Jesus will complete His full redemption: God’s eternal salvation. What a wonderful Savior!
How do I get “wisdom from God?” What specific things should I do to develop a deep relationship with Jesus? Are there some things I should be doing that I am not? If so, how can I remedy this situation?
Yes, Jesus, I want to have a close relationship with You as John did. I will be with You all my life. You are my wisdom, my righteousness, my sanctification, and my redemption. Please fill me with Your Spirit and make me more like You. In Your loving name I pray, Amen.
