The Judge Is My Defense

by Sam

Revelation 14:7

He said with a loud voice, “Fear the Lord, and give him glory, for the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and the springs of waters!”

Today’s verse talks about the final judgment.

In this courtroom, each one of us is the defendant and Satan is the prosecuting attorney. He will present to the universe all the sins we have ever committed. Every time we lied, over-ate, lusted, coveted, swore, dishonored our parents, and hated will be shown. Satan will demand the death sentence because, for even one instance of sin, the penalty is death. Our case is hopeless. Unless we know the Judge.

Jesus is the Judge.

He presides and makes the final verdict. If you have repented of your sins and accepted Jesus into your heart, He is also your defense attorney. He has only one defense. Taking your long list of sins, Jesus takes His own blood and signs His name over them. Jesus, as the Judge, pronounces you innocent, bangs the gavel, and lets you enter into heaven.

Jesus wants to be your defense attorney. He wants to write over all your sins with His own perfect life. He wants to be your ticket to heaven.

Won’t you let Him, today?

Reflection

How can I let Jesus be my defense?

Prayer

Dear Jesus, Thank You for dying for me, for trading my sinful life with Your sinless life. Please, come into my heart and live forever in me. In Your name I pray, Amen.
