The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank Him.
When I read today’s verse my mind immediately started thinking of a number of different songs I love, all of which are a thank-you to God. I thought about songs like…Thank you, Lord; Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart; How Great Thou Art…. I could go on and on. The song I want to draw your attention to, however, is the Doxology.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise Him all creatures here below.
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
I’ve sung this song a million times, but the night my dear friend asked us to sing it with him—well, that time is more meaningful than any other. You see, it was my friend’s first time to be ‘out and about’ since a freak accident left him a quadriplegic in a matter of mere seconds. And here he was singing “Praise God from whom all blessings flow….”
Even when it seems we don’t, we have much to be thankful for because we ALWAYS have the cross.
Thank You, LORD, thank You.
Thank You for life, for Your presence,
wisdom, blessings, and love.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
