My Constant Teacher

by Darla Noble

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

To this end we also pray always for you that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

A soldier is trained before being sent out to defend our country. A doctor endures years of strenuous study and training before he is declared to be a doctor. A teacher’s education encompasses a wide range of subject matters so that they, in turn, will be equipped to educate young minds.

God is the Christian’s constant teacher.

His constant provision of talents, abilities, and the power of the Holy Spirit equip you to do the great works He assigned you to do. All you have to do is thank God and say, “Yes, Sir!” Then move out in faith to do His bidding.

God has blessed each of us with passions and abilities so we can, in turn, bless others. Some ways we can fully allow God’s grace to be visible through us:

  • Share your talents to brighten the lives of those in need.
  • Use a hobby as an outlet to minister to others.
  • Allow the Good News of Jesus to fill you with joy, making Jesus attractive to everyone with whom you come into contact.
  • Live so others will see the Savior in you and want Him, too.

Reflection

What can I do this week to serve others and bring glory to God? I will write down one thing I can do today.

Prayer

Dear God, Please show me how You want me to use who I am to illuminate Your love and grace. I want my works to glorify You. Please never stop teaching me. In the sweet name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
