It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, Most High, to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night, with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the melody of the lyre.
When you allow yourself to feel sincere gratitude toward God, you cannot help overflowing with unselfish love.
Expressing gratitude of great depth and intensity is something we all need to do on a regular basis. In doing so, we will be able to rest in His infinite agape love and focus on the extreme sacrifice Jesus Christ made for our salvation.
You are living and breathing for no other reason than the fact that God wants you to.
He watches over each breath you take and every beat your heart makes. He knows your thoughts, your fears, and the desires of your heart. But He doesn’t just know these things… He cares about these things. He cares deeply.
Things may not always go your way. But the hardships we endure do not mean that God does not care. Often, our trials serve to make us acutely aware of God’s providence, His infinite grace, His protecting care, His love.
As the inspirational speaker and author W. A. Ward said, “Gratitude [to God] can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”
Oh, how much we have to be grateful for!
“Thank You, Lord, for giving me a new day. I pray I will give thanks to You in all I do. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.” How might my life be changed if, for the next week, I offer this praise to Jesus when I wake up each day?
Heavenly God, I will be forever grateful for Your wondrous love and care. May my praise be music to Your ears. Thank You for watching over me, protecting me, and loving me. Though things don’t always go my way, may I always go Yours. I praise You in Jesus’ wonderful name, Amen.
