When I was in elementary school, a teacher put on a skit during chapel. We students watched as she skipped onto the stage and was met with a cardboard box filled with all kinds of toys. Written on the box in heavy black letters was the word “sin.”

She hurried toward the box, excited by all the cool things inside.

Excitedly, she started taking things out of the box. Silly things like a feather boa, paddle ball, a bottle of bubbles, etc. Soon, the box was empty. I remember her looking around confused, saying, “What do I do now? I have nothing left!”

In the simplest of terms, that’s what sin does to you. It may seem fun at the moment, but in the end, it leaves you empty.

God’s love fills you up.

If you listen to the world, you’re bound to end up empty, worse off than you started. But if you listen to the Holy Spirit, then you’re bound to feel full and happy. Jesus brings Hope and Joy wherever He goes.

Make the decision to follow the Holy Spirit’s promptings and welcome Jesus into your heart today. Then follow where the Holy Spirit leads and live a life of fullness with Jesus.
