No matter where you go, Jesus is your ever-present Savior.

David Livingstone was born in 1813 in Scotland. As a young man, he studied medicine while preparing to become a missionary.

When he was 28 years old, Livingstone went to Africa where he lived, traveling extensively, for much of the next three decades.

While living in Africa, Livingstone lost his beloved wife, Mary, to fever. He witnessed firsthand the horrors of the slave trade, including the massacre of an entire village. He endured deprivation and hardship, surviving 27 fevers and being mauled by a lion. Yet he remained faithful.

Upon his return to England, Livingstone asked the students at Glasgow University, “Shall I tell you what sustained me amidst the toil and hardship of my exiled life? It was Jesus’ promise, ‘Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”

You, too, may be going through a difficult time that seems impossible to survive or too painful to deal with. But there is always hope when you listen to Jesus, who whispers in your ear today’s promise, “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
